Section 1: Reading and Use of English (1 hour 30 minutes)
This paper combines reading comprehension and language knowledge (grammar, vocabulary). It has eight parts and 56 questions total.
- Parts 1–4: Use of English tasks (multiple-choice cloze, open cloze, word formation, key word transformations).
- Parts 5–8: Reading tasks (multiple choice, cross-text multiple matching, gapped text, multiple matching).
- Time: 90 minutes.
- Marks: Each question carries 1 or 2 marks. The total raw score is 56. This paper contributes 40% to the final overall score.
Section 2: Writing (1 hour 30 minutes)

To pass, you need an overall score of 180 or above. There is no minimum score per paper — you can compensate a weaker paper with stronger performance in others. However, a very low score in one paper can pull your average below 180.
